In 2019, Copenhagen Pump was contacted by the Danish Technological Institute to solve a pumping task around emission-free pumping of hazardous chemicals for use in dense laboratory cabinets.
The chemical is supplied in particularly safe drum packaging.
In collaboration with the project team, we prepared and delivered a solution based on a Lutz B2 Niro pump joined together with an emmision adapter.
The purpose of the emission adapter is to keep tightly around the pump's penetration into the packaging, while allowing vacuum equalization without emission to the surroundings.
The installation is outdoors, but can be operated from the laboratory operator's workplace.
When handling hazardous liquids, it is especially smart to use a Lutz dish and container pump. This is because the basic idea in the pump is that the suction cord is part of the pump's design and that it is emptied via a pass through the top of the container. Precisely because this design features, unintentional release to the surroundings is ensured. At the same time, it is basically a cheap way to install pumps.
