Tekn.Inst. Lutz Emission-free pumping of hazardous chemicals to laboratory cabinets.

In 2019, Copenhagen Pump was contacted by the Danish Technological Institute to solve a pumping task regarding emission-free pumping of hazardous chemicals for use in sealed laboratory cabinets.

The chemical is delivered in special secure drum packaging.
In collaboration with the project team, we designed and delivered a solution based on a Lutz B2 Niro pump joined with an emission adaptor.
The purpose of the emission adaptor is to keep a tight seal around the pump's passage in the packaging while allowing vacuum equalization without emission to the surroundings.
The installation is outdoors, but can be operated from the laboratory operator's workplace.
When handling hazardous liquids, it is particularly smart to use a Lutz drum and container pump. This is because the basic idea of the pump is that the suction line is part of the pump design and that the liquid is emptied via a passage in the top of the container. Precisely because of this design feature, accidental spillage to the surroundings is ensured. At the same time, it is basically a cheap way to install pumps.

Project: emission-free container emptying
Capacity 5-50 l/min
Pressure 2 meters
