In 2020, Copenhagen Pump was contacted by the Danish Technological Institute who led a research project on plant challenges at depth giant Maersk. We were invited to save around the project especially with a focus on pumping solutions and challenges in doing so. The project was granted to last 1/2 year and Copenhagen Pump delivered approximately 200 hours in this connection. We contacted, interviewed and visited several geothermal plants. Examples include the depth of geothermal plants 1,000-3,000 m in Tisted, Copenhagen, as well as a surface system (-100 m) at Novo Nordisk.
In the process, we calculated pressure, flow and energy on reference plants that the project group of the Danish Technological Institute set up. Finally, we submitted our recommendations with a particular focus on technology, operating economy and plant intervention as part of a final project. We are very pleased with our contribution to the conclusion and look forward to new challenges.
